the Expedition bike
Standard £2789 or Disc £2999
The definitive expedition bike for world travellers.
This bike has been put together in collaboration with experienced expedition cycle adventurer Tom Allen of TomsBikeTrip.com, using his experience of travelling the world by bike. Every part of this bike has been built with longevity in mind; every component has been carefully thought through. We've resisted the temptation to up-spec it to justify an inflated price, using top-grade components where it makes sense and simple, easily replaceable parts where it doesn't. A Cane Creek 110 Series headset, stainless steel racks and supremely strong hand-built wheels are key components of this bike, eliminating as far as possible the chance of mechanical failure in the most critical long-term parts of the bike.
We are now very proud to announce the introduction of the 2022 Expedition with tweaks and improvements based on the feedback of our riders:
improved friction/indexed thumb shifters allowing easier cable adjustment
Improved finishing kit from Ergotec - stronger and better quality finish.
We now fit a modified Hebie steering stabiliser to keep the bars steady when on the stand
Brooks B17 or Terry Fisio Gel saddle as standard
thinner Schwalbe rim tape that is less abrasive on innertubes
a stainless steel rear rack with a second lower pannier rail
Flat pedals as standard many customers went for the dual use spds and then ended up not using them
Internal frame protection using Dinitrol 3125HS rust preventer
10 speed transmissions available for a small upgrade charge.
Many riders will want to add a hub dynamo for truly autonomous navigation and communication, and perhaps a Brooks saddle. Because we custom-build each bike to order, these modifications (and many others) are easily and cost-effectively added during the build process.
We can also quote competitively for Ortlieb and Brooks panniers. Unlike online retailers we set up the panniers to fit correctly on our racks, saving you a fiddly job.
